Yashgan Skylight (Skye): Irish Sporthorse mare with Edmund Burke bloodlines

16.1 hh bay 2002 Irish Sport Horse mare by Yashgan (TB) out of Meenies Dolly (TB) by Edmund Burke (TB).

“Skye” hails from County Kerry, Ireland. She was purchased in October, 2007 from our dear friends Cass and Jerome Foley.

Southgate Farm imported Skye to the US as a 5 year-old using the services of Mersant International. She served her CEM quarantine at Rigbie Farm in Maryland, and then made the road trip to her new home in Georgia.

Looking for a suitable stallion to match to Skye's bloodlines, we bred Skye to Navarone, a son of Jus de Pomme, double-gold medalist at the Atlanta Olympics, with Selle Francais and Holsteiner/Hanoverian bloodlines that cross well with Irish Sport Horses. The foal is due early in 2010.

Four Generation Pedigree for Yashgan Skylight

Yashgan Skylight has an awesome pedigree that combines the English Thoroughbred influence of Yashgan, the American TB influence of Edmund Burke and a touch of Irish Draught to make a perfect sport horse.

Yashgan was a stakes winner in Europe and the US, while Edmund Burke is renowned as one of the premier event horse sires, with offspring including Supreme Rock.
