The newest addition to our family of horses is Amber's foal, Red Reign (Petey), born in May 2009.

Little Petey was imprinted at birth, loves people and is another chestnut offspring from the pairing of Fancy Candi and Pallas Digion.

About Southgate Farm
At Southgate Farm we began with a love for eventing and the American Thoroughbred. Our favorite horse -- the one responsible for so much of what we've become -- was Candi's Dandy (Houston), a TB by Candi's Gold. In the quest for a more durable sport horse that could withstand the rigors of regular eventing, showjumping and field hunting, we found and bought Houston's full sister, Fancy Candi (Amber). Then, we decided to begin our breeding program by crossing Amber with an Irish Sport Horse, Pallas Digion, a match that would yield a 7/8 TB and 1/8 ID cross.

After Amber had 2 healthy foals by Pallas Digion, we decided to make Southgate Farm a business, with a philosopy centered on creating sturdy and bold eventers that would not be sold until they had been started properly, schooled and begun training as eventers.
