Truth Be Told (Trudie)

16 hh rose gray 2006 Thoroughbred cross filly by Salute the Truth (TB) out of Politically Correct (TBX) by Johnny Can Hop (TB).

“Trudie” is bred for eventing success! Her dam, Politically Correct, a Grade 1 eventer, campaigned successfully through the Intermediate level in Areas III and V, becoming a regional legend and placing 4th at the North American Young Riders CCI* championships in 2000. Ian Stark once noted that “Polly” is the perfect example of a fantastic event horse and was keen on helping us select the right stallion to match with her.

We chose Steuart Pittman’s Salute the Truth (Willy), an American Thoroughbred then competing at the Advanced level. A favorite of Bruce Davidson, Willy is putting many strong event horses in the sport. Trudie is an attractive and sweet girl with loads of promise.

Trudie was professionally started under saddle in the early fall of 2008, and continues her training with Lili Bennett at Plain Dealing Farm in Scottsville, Virginia. Trudie took the blue ribbon at her first unrecognized outing and begins eventing in recognized shows in the summer of 2010.

Currently offered for sale at $25,000.

Pedigree

Four Generation Pedigree for Truth Be Told

The pedigree for Truth Be Told shows the influence of Salute the Truth, her TB sire and a son of Salutely, and the one-eighth Percheron influence brought by her dam through the bottom side.

We have great expectations of Trudie, given the eventing history of both dam and sire. As Polly was an accomplished Grade 1 eventer, we were looking for a stallion with a competitive record to match hers. We met Willy on a trip to Maryland, and were impressed with his conformation, kind eye and gentle manner.

As Trudie matures, she favors the timber-racing pedigree of her TB sire. She is a beautifully conformed TB cross, with her 1/8 Percheron breeding showing up in her calm demeanor and the shape of her head.
