About the event
Join us at the farm to learn all about shiitake mushrooms and take home your own mushroom log! We'll start with a class going over basic mushroom biology, cultivation, and use. Then, we'll tackle all your fungi-pertinent questions and walk you through inoculating your own mushroom log to take home. If all goes well, your log will begin fruiting in 6-12 months, and you'll be able to harvest shiitakes off of it for years to come! We provide all materials and tools.
This event will be held regardless of temperature. While we will be in the barn, plan to dress warmly. If there is a lot of snow on the drive, it is a possibility that we will have to cancel or reschedule. This event requires participants have the ability and mobility to be standing for a couple hours at a time.
In order to maintain a small class size and socially distant work spaces, we are limiting the class to 5 work stations. If you are signing up on your own, your spot is $60. If you are signing up with a partner at your work station, registration for the couple is $85. (Each participant takes home their own mushroom log.) Please wear a mask or facial covering during the workshop.
There is a possibility that we will decide to open up another workshop time if this one fills. If you would like to be added to a waitlist, please contact us through our contact form.
