Shiitake Mushroom Workshop AM

Join us at the farm to learn all about shiitake mushrooms and take home your own mushroom log! We'll start with a class going over basic mushroom biology, cultivation, and use. Then, we'll tackle all your fungi-pertinent questions and walk through two low-tech methods for growing gourmet mushrooms at home. Each participant will practice these methods and inoculate a mushroom log to take home. If all goes well, your log will begin fruiting in 6-12 months, and you'll be able to harvest shiitakes off of it for years to come! We provide all materials and tools.

This event will be held regardless of temperature. While we will be in the barn, plan to dress warmly. If there is a lot of snow on the drive, it is a possibility that we will have to cancel or reschedule.
